The Center for Technological Support in Academia (CATA, by its Spanish acronym) promotes and facilitates the processes of instructional design and production of learning materials, using the latest technology available. The goals of the Center are to provide the resources needed for the design of instructional materials tailor-made to the needs of students and faculty members, to coordinate and produce learning materials geared at augmenting instructional quality, and promote the utilization of media technology integrated into the teaching-learning process. In addition, it provides computer and network technical support to all units and personnel of the Deanship for Academic Affairs.
Among others, the Center provides graphic arts, printing and photography services; a diverse range of services in video, digital media production and conversion processes; production of instructional and educational television programs; as well as faculty training in effective use of instructional media. It also has downlink capability for teleconferences.
